Essex County Championship Swimmers

Braintree and Bocking swimmers have excelled this year, with one of the highest number of Essex County qualifiers in the clubs’ history. 41 swimmers have achieved county times over the last year of competitions, of which 36 swimmers have entered the championships encompassing an impressive 177 events.


The Essex County Championships take place over three weekends in February, March and April and will be held at Braintree and Basildon. Here the best swimmers in the County from all swimming clubs compete.

Not only will a vast number of swimmers be representing Braintree & Bocking Club, with a huge range of boys and girls racing in all events, but many of the swimmers are highly ranked going into the championships, so the Club has its eye on acquiring a number of medals.

The coaches and swimmers have worked hard over the last year to get where they are and the quality Braintree & Bocking swimming Club have in depth and ability is now clear.

2012 Essex County Qualifiers entered:

9 year old girls - Annabelle Kitching, Chloe Maloney Eleanor Burder and Morgan Harrod.

9 year old boys – Cameron Newton, Harry Mclagan, Kai Sweet and Myles English.

10 year old girls – Charlotte Matthews, Eloise Dockerty and Rebecca Kitching.

10 year old boys – Benjamin Speakman, Finlay Rudge, Jack Speakman, Monty Forster and Tom Hill.

11 year old girls – Georgia Harrod.

11 year old boys – Charlie Boden.

12 year old girls – Harriet White and Verity Warner-Moulding.

12 year old boys – Ben Cox and Jordan Rudge.

13 year old girls – Amy Lazell and Grace Hellier.

13 year old boys – Dylan Nutt, Hugo Dockerty and Ryan Kelly.

14 year old girls – Isabella Salthouse.

14 year old boys – Kacper Kurowski.

15 year old girls – Harriet Bartram-Baird and Sophie Howard.

15 year old boys – Philip Hart.

16 year old girls  - Helen Mitchell and Rebekah Booty.

16 year old boys – Joe Hellier.
